Michelle McKinnon is a partner in the Employment & Labour Group at Cassels, Brock and Blackwell LLP. Michelle was fortunate to grow up and start her legal career in South Africa, where she worked at Africa’s largest law firm for 8 years. In 2018, Michelle and her family relocated to Canada where she continued her legal career (at first in Vancouver and now in Calgary).

Michelle found the journey to becoming a Canadian lawyer difficult with many obstacles along the way, including struggling with mental health. Having overcome those obstacles, Michelle wants to give back and support other internationally trained lawyers.

Michelle is passionate about mentorship and sharing knowledge in a real and authentic way.
