Yunfei Zhang’s legal journey spans China, the United States, and Canada. She earned her LL.B. from Tsinghua University and her LL.M. from Cornell University before returning to Canada in 2021 to complete the Certificate of Qualification process. Going through that process herself strengthened her commitment to supporting internationally trained lawyers navigating the Canadian legal system.

As Co-President of Global Lawyers of Canada ( Alberta Chapter), Yunfei focuses on building a supportive community, strengthening advocacy efforts, and ensuring ITLs feel connected and represented. Her experience includes commercial and energy regulatory work, cross-border M&A transactions, IPO listings on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, and judicial clerking in Shanghai.

She believes leadership is about service and creating opportunities for others and contributing meaningfully to the legal community.
